Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Bill Rate: $27.00 per hour

Job Description:

The Inventory and Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficiently pulling customer sales orders from finished goods inventory and ensuring accurate storage of products within designated warehouse locations. This role requires maintaining precise inventory records, following FIFO principles, and collaborating with other departments to ensure on-time order fulfillment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately place all finished goods into inventory in their designated locations, including HPLC, GC, SPE, and accessories.
  • Pull sales orders for domestic, international, and subsidiary customers promptly and accurately.
  • Perform inventory transactions in the computer ERP system to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Ensure 99% or better inventory accuracy through diligent tracking and reconciliation.
  • Adhere to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory system to maintain proper stock rotation and prevent product obsolescence.
  • Work collaboratively with other department associates to ensure all on-time delivery (OTD) orders ship on the same day.
  • Exhibit a strong teamwork attitude and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Follow all Phenomenex company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Handle chemicals and biological materials, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines (no hazardous waste or radiation involved).
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management or requested by customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory and order processing.
  • Familiarity with general clerical methods, principles, and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems for inventory management is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, and reach with arms.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distinguishing the nature of objects using the eye.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily indoors in an office, laboratory, or warehouse setting.
  • Conditions may include wet/humid and dry/arid environments.
  • Noise levels range from low to moderate, with higher noise levels in laboratory or warehouse settings.
  • Occasional travel or overtime work may be required.
  • Employees must maintain a professional environment free from discrimination, intimidation, or harassment.

  • Adheres to all company and departmental safety procedures.
  • Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling materials.
  • Reports unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor.
  • Immediately reports any accidents or near misses to the supervisor.
